Connecting to Community Supports

Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, Texas schools are required to provide families of students identified with an intellectual disability or developmental delay with information about their local intellectual and developmental disability authority (LIDDA). The Connecting to Community Supports resource helps families learn about services and public benefits available through their LIDDA, including Medicaid waiver programs, and is shared at the first admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee meeting where a student's individualized education program (IEP) is developed.
